چکیده

Qualitative propagation influences in qualitative inferences are unlike and interrelated on the different hierarchy of knowledge granules, and quantitative information loss easily results in reasoning conflicts. This paper presents a hierarchical qualitative inference model with substructures which to some extent can eliminate the qualitative impact of uncertainty and solve trade-off problems by metastructures with basic decomposition and coarse-grained mesoscale substructures with edgedeletion. The substructural inferences could not only reduce computational complexity, but provide an approximate strategy for modular reasoning on large-scale problems. The example respectively illustrates the two substructural methods are both effective.

Hierarchical Hidden Markov Models with General State Hierarchy

The hierarchical hidden Markov model (HHMM) is an extension of the hidden Markov model to include a hierarchy of the hidden states. This form of hierarchical modeling has been found useful in applications such as handwritten character recognition, behavior recognition, video indexing, and text retrieval. Nevertheless, the state hierarchy in the original HHMM is restricted to a tree structure. T...

Bayesian Inference in Large Hierarchical Spatial Data Structures

In processing discrete-choice spatially referenced data evolving from large hierarchical structures, investigators typically encounter three imposing difficulties. One difficulty is the evaluation of a large-scale determinant resulting from the Jacobian of the transformation from the error structure to the latent variables used to simulate the discrete choices. A second difficulty results from ...

Presenting a Hierarchical Model of Factors Affecting the Issuance of Sukuk without Maturity with a Focus on Shari'ah and Operational Principles

Structural diversity in Islamic financial instruments is growing rapidly. One of the newest Islamic financial instruments is the issuance of Perpetual Sukuk. These bonds structure are similar to debt and equity forms and have regular returns with no maturity date. These bonds are issued by Islamic banks, the government and the private sector in the form of Al-Musharaka, Mudaraba and Wakalat con...

Modeling semantics of inconsistent qualitative knowledge for quantitative Bayesian network inference

We propose a novel framework for performing quantitative Bayesian inference based on qualitative knowledge. Here, we focus on the treatment in the case of inconsistent qualitative knowledge. A hierarchical Bayesian model is proposed for integrating inconsistent qualitative knowledge by calculating a prior belief distribution based on a vector of knowledge features. Each inconsistent knowledge c...

Learning in Compositional Hierarchies: Inducing the Structure of Objects from Data

I propose a learning algorithm for learning hierarchical models for object recognition. The model architecture is a compositional hierarchy that represents part-whole relationships: parts are described in the local context of substructures of the object. The focus of this report is learning hierarchical models from data, i.e. inducing the structure of model prototypes from observed exemplars of...
